Today, the Faculty of Law celebrates its first graduating class of an innovative new degree program: the Global Professional LLM.

Launched in September 2011, the GPLLM is a unique, executive-style degree  in international business law. The 25 graduates of the inaugural class picked up their hard-earned degrees Nov. 13 – but the credentials are already gaining notice.

The installation of the Honourable Michael Wilson as the 33rd Chancellor of the University of Toronto marked the opening ceremonies of fall Convocation on the morning of Nov. 12, launching a week of celebration for thousands of students, their families and faculty mentors.

It’s the University of Toronto’s biggest celebration of the year: convocation.

With the sounds of the carillon ringing out across the downtown campus, more than 9,700 graduating students have donned black gowns to cross King’s College Circle in everything from drenching rain to scorching heat.

And they’ve done it with grace, good humour and flair.
